With over half a year left before its highly-anticipated release, Square Enix is rolling full steam ahead with their continued showcase of Final Fantasy VII Remake, which many players believe is a strong contender for Game of the Year. Its latest showing at Tokyo Game Show today proved just that, with the publisher showing off a brand-new trailer as well as some more gameplay footage. This time, the trailer features returning characters as well as a look at some of the more memorable parts of the original Final Fantasy VII. Check out the TGS trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake below, as well as more gameplay footage direct from the event courtesy of IGN.

If all the previous trailers and footage didn’t get you hyped, then this TGS trailer should do the trick, as this one properly introduces the Turks agents Reno, Rude, and Tseng. The trailer showed off some of Cloud’s unforgettable epic battle with Reno, now in full high definition. We also get a look at some of the mini-games, Cloud turning into the infamous frog, the powerful Ifrit and Shiva summons, and of course, that memorable mission with Don Corneo. Weirdly enough, there also seems to be a brand-new character, who is another member of SOLDIER.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is due out for the PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020. It’s the first part in a planned series of games, with the first release covering the events in Midgar.

Stay tuned here with us for more updates on the latest news and announcements made at Tokyo Game Show 2019.
