The People’s Champ may be past his prime now, but thanks to Ranida Games, everyone can experience his journey. FIGHTING PRIDE: The Manny Pacquiao Saga is a game that tells the life story of the eight-division world champion. The game is set to be released for mobile devices sometime in early 2021.
If you’re not familiar with boxing, Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao is the only boxer in history to have won in eight different weight divisions, and he has a total of 12 major titles. FIGHTING PRIDE is being developed by Ranida Games in partnership with OMG Inc.
In a statement, Ranida Games CEO Ben Banta said that he has been watching Manny’s fights since he was young and it has been his dream to eventually create a Pacquiao game. He went on to say that he has been “a huge fan of beat ‘em ups, the continuous wave of action it offers while telling a story makes this a perfect genre through which to share [Pacquiao's] life story.”
OMG President Mike Ochosa, meanwhile, revealed that Manny’s life has to be shared with everyone “from nothing to greatness, from the impossible to endless possibilities.” With a story that is truly inspiring, he went on to say that “what better way to impart that sentiment to the world than through a mobile game app?”
FIGHTING PRIDE is still being developed, so we'll have to wait to see what the final game actually looks like.
