As if things weren’t difficult enough, Surgeon Simulator 2 is upping the ante with its latest competitive update. The game has introduced Surgical Showdowns, which adds six frantic team-based levels. Indeed, this update offers a competitive twist to this operation sim and pits surgeon against surgeon.

Surgical Showdown is going to offer these challenges:

  • Run For Your Money
    • It’s raining cash and it’s time for player to bounce off trampolines in order to catch as many falling coins as they can before slotting them in the pachinko machine.
    • The question is, who can deposit the most coins before time runs out?
  • Pulse Racer
    • Grab that bonesaw and race against the other team to heal more Bobs.
  • The Bob-stacle Course
    • This 2v2 obstacle course has surgery at the heart of it.
  • Arms Race
    • Time for some good old fashioned team-based dismemberment.
    • Rip off Bob’s limbs and then shoot them in the goals to score.
  • Balls to the Wall
    • Join the race and grab some giant balls and then go through a series of obstacles to shoot them into the goal.
    • The first team to score three points wins.
  • Hide and Shriek
    • This quickfire game can be described as hospital hide-and-seek.
    • Outwit the other team by hiding a series of objects in places they’ll never find.

In a statement, Bossa Studios’ Gamer-in-Chief and CEO Henrique Olifiers said that Surgeon Simulator 2 has managed to create competition not only between players, but even real surgeons. He added that a good example of this was last week when more than 20 medical professionals at Grimsby Hospital took on a heart transplant speedrun in the game. Olifiers went on to say that they “created this content update so players everywhere, be they real doctors or not, can enjoy the thrill of competitive surgery without risking any lawsuits.”

Surgeon Simulator 2 is a medical simulation game where each object, every organ, and even every limb, are up for grabs. The game offers new operations and an exciting story mode. It also has a four-player online co-op. This sequel also comes with the Creation Mode, where players can explore an entire medical facility. Surgeon Simulator 2 is available for both the PC and PlayStation 4 at $24.99.
