A new VR-ready version of SUPERHOT is currently being prepped by developer SUPERHOT Team, the studio confirmed on Monday night, and it sounds like those who enjoyed the strategic shooter when it debuted in February will have ample reason to explore SUPERHOT VR.

Turns out, SUPERHOT Team and Oculus have been working on SUPERHOT VR for more than three years, building a version of the game that’s been designed (from the ground up) to be experienced with the Oculus Touch controllers expected to ship later this year. For starters, there’s dual-wielding now, which will undoubtedly add an extra level of depth to one of the most unique shooters currently on the market. SUPERHOT Team is also promising to expand the SUPERHOT universe with “more content, game modes and crazy experimental titles.”

Of course, some things won’t be changing. SUPERHOT Team says the base mechanics will remain unchanged in SUPERHOT VR. There’s still aren’t any health bars or conveniently placed boxes of ammunition. Players will still be heavily outnumbered by their enemies and the slow-motion navigation of the battlefield still remains the core of the SUPERHOT experience.

For a closer look at SUPERHOT VR, including some of the gameplay changes we can expect to see and new modes being designed for the game, take a couple of minutes to check out the new SUPERHOT VR trailer from SUPERHOT Team. Then head down to the comments section and let us know what kinds of changes you’d like to see in SUPERHOT VR.

SUPERHOT VR is being developed for the Oculus Rift. The game is expected to debut sometime before the end of 2016.
