If you’re one of those looking for a different kind of action-adventure game, then you should take a look at Stonefly. It is described as “a chill and tranquil” game and is set to arrive on June 1 on PC and consoles.

Stonefly tells the story of Annika Stonefly, a naïve yet brilliant inventor. She is currently on a journey to recover a family heirloom. It’s actually her father’s beloved rig that was stolen one night. In the game, players get to invent their very own mech and craft abilities for it. They’re going to need it as they go deep into the wilderness where beautiful flora and dangerous fauna flourish.

Overall features of the game include:

  • Players make their own mech and even customize it to match their style.
  • Get to take on different types of bugs to harvest minerals.
    • Use these minerals to craft specialized mech parts.
  • Throughout various missions, experience gliding through tree canopies, traveling across marshes, and exploring breathtaking nature.
  • Experience richly handcrafted art, equally inspired by mid-century modern design and the natural world.
  • Be able to forge relationships with a cast of memorable characters from the Acorn Corps, a band of castaway mech pilots.

The game is set to be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. Stonefly will also launch on PC through Steam and players can wish list the game here.

For PC, the minimum system requirements are:

  • OS: Windows 7 (64-bit) or later
  • Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD processor, 2.5 GHz or faster
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 or AMD Radeon 6970 HD
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 5 GB available space

The game is developed by Flight School Studio and if that sounds familiar, they’re the same studio behind Creature in the Well. It’s a top-down and hack-and-slash dungeon crawler clearly inspired by pinball games. They’re also responsible for Island Time and Manifest 99.

What do you think? Are you going to give Stonefly a chance? We know we do.
