The first round of premium Stellaris DLC has finally been announced by Paradox Interactive, more than two months after the game’s Steam debut. Those hoping to see more species added to the narrative-focused 4X game should enjoy the contents of Stellaris’ Plantoids Species Pack.

Now that several patches have been released for Stellaris, improving many aspects of the base game, Paradox Interactive is finally ready to start releasing premium content for the latest strategy game in its growing catalog. Those releases begin next month, on Aug. 4, with the debut of the Plantoids Species Pack; the first of several planned add-ons for Stellaris , which brings sentient plant life to the sci-fi strategy game. According to Paradox, the Plantoids Species Pack will include fifteen new portraits, new ship models and a unique cityscape for Stellaris' next species.

The Plantoids Species Pack wasn’t the only big reveal of the week, either. Beginning on Tuesday, Stellaris fans can buy a digital download of the game’s soundtrack. Paradox is also offering a new e-book, Stellaris: Infinite Frontiers, which explores the first encounter between mankind and one of the many alien species featured in the strategy game. Both can be purchased on Steam or from the Paradox Interactive Store .

For now, those interested in getting their first glimpse of the Plantoids Species Pack will have to settle for the teaser trailer published on Tuesday. Once you’ve watched the 30-second clip, head down to the comments section and let us know what kinds of species you’d like to see added to Stellaris in an upcoming expansion.

Stellaris’ Plantoids Species Pack is in development for PC. The game’s first add-on will hit Steam on Aug. 4.
