A Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer is coming tomorrow!
A Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer is coming tomorrow! EA

“I still remember my last orders. The day the real war began.” Those two lines are heard in the teaser for the Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer. Yes, it’s a trailer for a trailer, but we’re still going to put WAY too much thought into it!

As we can see in the roughly seven seconds of in-game footage, there’s a TIE Fighter flying away from a planet and into the wreckage of a massive Star Destroyer. A female voice says the line above, and then the image cuts to a logo for the game and a hologram of an Imperial pilot.

Huh? That’s not a lot to go on. I guess it does the job of making me want to watch the full trailer tomorrow, though.

What we CAN figure out, according to this trailer, is where Battlefront 2 fits in the Star Wars canon. Because we see a TIE Fighter, that certainly takes away any hopes of prequel content coming to the DICE-developed shooter. It makes the most business sense for Battlefront 2 to push the new content from The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and Episode 9, so expect to see more of this in the full trailer tomorrow.

One thing for certain is the game looks gorgeous already. Star Wars Battlefront is a remarkable game to see running in the first place, so I can only imagine how good the graphics will be for the second one. The teaser says the footage is from the in-game engine, so we’ll see if that quality carries over to the rest of the game.
