In Star Trek lore, the Ferengi have what’s known as the Rules of Acquisition. One of these is Rule #74 which says that “Knowledge equals Profit.” What does it have to do with today’s news you ask?
Star Trek Online announced that Ferengi Merchants are offering Keys at 15% off from April 15 to April 19. That means this is the best time to load up on those Keys. If you’re still not sure, remember Rule #22 which is “a wise man can hear profit in the wind.”
For a limited time as well, Captains can buy the Key Ring Bundle for 2,250 Zen. This special pack offers 20x Master Keys for opening any Lock Box. That’s not all there is to it. Each of the special packs also comes with a single Ultimate Tech Upgrade. Using this item to any upgradeable piece of equipment immediately sets the Mark and Quality of that equipment to maximum, which means zero Dilithium Cost.
Delta Recruitment
The Delta Recruitment returns to the game. The event runs for 28 days and lets players create a new Delta Recruit character. For now, it’s available for PC since console players need to wait a bit until May 13.
Details of the event include:
- Any newly-made 2409 Starfleet character, Klingon Defense Force character, or Romulan Republic character is eligible to become a recruit for the 28 days that the event runs.
- The return of the Delta Recruitment event offers all new goals and rewards for Captains to discover.
- Missions that are no longer in the episode journal will no longer have Delta Recruit tasks in them.
- However, new tasks have been added to the New Romulus, Dyson Sphere, and Delta Quadrant story arcs.
- Tasks that previously gave players marks have been updated so they can claim all of the new kinds of Reputation marks that have been added since the first launch of Delta Recruitment.
- Reaching level 60 now gives Delta Recruit Captains even more marks and Reputation dilithium, as well as salvage.
- New rewards have been added for finishing the player’s faction’s Admiralty campaign.
- One of the rewards is a very special Admiralty card which is the U.S.S. Voyager.
- Existing Delta Recruits can now complete these new goals as well.
- Rewards can be claimed immediately, from previously completed goals.
