Fans of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had the time of their lives when it was officially revealed that Sora is finally coming to the game. The main protagonist of the Kingdom Hearts series will join the fight on October 18 as the final DLC fighter.

Under the Challenger Pack 11 DLC, Sora arrives along with a new stage and selected music tracks from the Kingdom Hearts series. The Challenger Pack 11 is available for $5.99. It can also be purchased as part of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2, priced at $29.99. In addition to Sora, it also comes with Min Min (Arms), Steve and Alex (Minecraft), Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII), Pyra/Mythra (Xenoblade Chronicles 2), and Kazuya (Tekken).

The Keyblade Master

In the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Sora wields the iconic Keyblade as he travels across Disney and Pixar worlds fighting against the Heartless to overcome the darkness and bring peace back to the realm. His signature look and his airborne moves allow him to transition perfectly to the game as an approachable fighter that offers a unique feel.

For the Super Smash Bros Ultimate version, Sora is excellent when fighting in the air. His movements are both light and soft and his jumps are high. While he can be easily launched by his opponents, his combo-based attacks using his Keyblade more than make him a truly formidable fighter. He can even use magic, like the Firaga, Thundaga, and Blizzaga spells. His Final Smash is called “Sealing the Keyhole,” which can send opponents flying.

New Content

The new stage that comes with Challenger Pack 11 is none other than Hollow Bastion. It has one platform in the center and as the battle nears its end, players travel to a special area inspired by Dive to the Heart. Arriving as well are the nine music tracks from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. A bonus track is added which is the “Dearly Beloved -Swing Version.”

There’s also a new Spirit Board that stars Riku, Kairi, and Roxas of Kingdom Hearts.

In a statement, Nick Chavez of Nintendo of America shared that introducing the iconic Sora is the best way to close out the game’s Fighter Pass expansions. He added that there are now 86 fighters that cover the entire history of video games.
