Fans of SNK’s classic arcade titles have something incredibly exciting to look forward to next month.

While already available on both the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch, the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is set to arrive on Xbox One this May 3 as a fully digital title. The Nintendo Switch version was notably released mid-November last year, while the PlayStation 4 version launched last March. Since Xbox players will be experiencing it last, and to presumably make up for making them wait, SNK has also announced the addition of the genre-defining title Baseball Stars. The title is fully exclusive to the Xbox One family of consoles, and players of the younger generation can now experience what made the title so special, like persistent team features, create-a-player options and the addition of actual baseball mechanics, all staples that influenced sports games for the following decades.

The inclusion of Baseball Stars to the list of arcade titles included in the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection brings its total up to 25, including early home titles as well. Here is a full list of the games included in the collection (list via Siliconera):

  • Alpha Mission
  • Athena
  • Baseball Stars
  • Beast Busters
  • Bermuda Triangle
  • Chopper I
  • Crystalis
  • Fantasy
  • Ikari Warriors
  • Ikari III: The Rescue
  • Guerrilla War
  • Munch Mobile
  • Ozma
  • Paddle Mania
  • P.O.W.
  • Prehistoric Isle in 1930
  • Psycho Soldier
  • SAR: Search and Rescue
  • Sasuke vs Commander
  • Street Smart
  • Time Soldiers
  • TNK III
  • Vanguard
  • Victory Road
  • World Wars

This remastered collection was ported by none other than Digital Eclipse. If you’re not aware, the developer also handled some very high-profile releases on smaller platforms, including the more recent Mega Man Legacy Collection, the Disney Afternoon Collection, and the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.

In other recent news, SNK is also set to release a new Metal Slug title for consoles in addition to the mobile game in development under Tencent. The developer/publisher is also set to release new consoles in the form of Neo Geo Versions 2 and 3, decided after the particular success of the Neo Geo Mini.

The SNK 40th Anniversary Collection releases digitally on the Xbox One this May 3. It costs $39.99, with pre-orders now available.
