Rating Board
The rumor isn’t without its merits. Skull & Bones has already been rated by the Korean and Brazil Rating Boards, per post A few days ago, the game also received a Mature Rating from ESRB, which indicates that the game is near completion and that the release is soon.
Not Rated for Last-Gen Consoles
One interesting thing about the ratings is that the mentioned platforms are PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Stadia, and PC, leaving behind past-gen consoles. This might mean that the previously announced version of Xbox One and PS4 could have been canceled. If the rumor is accurate, then we should know more soon.

Previous Leaks
Skull & Bones has been a target of several leaks and rumors in the past. A few months ago, gameplay footage of the game was leaked. It was quickly taken down by Ubisoft. However, we all know that nothing is ever gone from the internet. You can watch the leaked gameplay trailer above.
About the Game
Skull & Bones is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Singapore. The game focuses on piracy and naval warfare, inspired by the naval combat of Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag, which received much praise from fans.
Many asked for a standalone game focused on that. Ubisoft listened, and it took its sweet time with it. Skull & Bones was officially revealed in 2017 at E3 with a release window of Q3/Q4 2018. As we now know, that never happened and the game got delayed multiple times. We hope it isn’t delayed anymore and fans finally get to see what Ubisoft has been working on for so long.
