What fortunes await you this season? Rare

Sea of Thieves announced that Season Two is finally here and with that, players get to experience new events, have new ways to play, and receive new rewards. The new season arrives courtesy of a free update available on PC and Xbox.

Season Two offers all players 100 levels of rewards, all for free. There’s also a Plunder Pass that players can buy if they want additional premium rewards. The new season works pretty much like the previous one where players work their way up the level by increasing Renown. Extra Renown, meanwhile, can be received by finishing Trials.

See What’s Coming

Season Two sees the arrival of the Forts of Fortune. This has been marked by a rather ominous sign of a Skull Cloud in the skies. Unlike your usual Skeleton Forts, the Forts of Fortune provide a more rigorous challenge. Making it difficult are the additional explosive potential and even stronger enemies. Those who manage to conquer this challenge not only get high-level loot but also guaranteed Athena’s Treasures.

It’s not all battle since players can also go for trade with the new Merchant Alliance Trade Routes. Emissaries have the chance to earn a fortune by using those trade skills. Meaning, they can buy Commodity Crates at Outposts for the lowest price possible then sell them at Outposts where those same Commodities are in high demand. Plus, the Merchant Alliance actually now sells Resource Crates. It’s now easier to stock up on those wooden planks, cannonballs, and even bananas.

Season Two also has the limited-time event known as "Reapers vs. the World." This has The Reaper’s Bones going against other Trading Companies in a game of Emissary cat and mouse. There are Twitch Drops as well where everyone who has the time can earn, among others, bonus emotes and new additions to the Gilded Phoenix set.

Plunder Pass

The Plunder Pass is pretty much like the Pass in other games. Premium rewards include the Black Phoenix Figurehead, Sails, and Flag. There are also Popcorn and Backflip emotes for players to enjoy.

New to the Pirate Emporium is the Dark Warsmith collection. It comes with a full ship set, an all-in-one pirate costume, and some red-hot weaponry. Players can also go for the Dagger Tricks Emote Bundle.

Season Two arrives with Patch 2.1.0 which you can read here.
