Rumor: Spyro Reignited Trilogy Getting A PC Release

Apparently it's being developed by the same studio that did the Crash remaster for PC.

Following Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy’s port to PC, we may see another one of Activision’s gems make its way to the platform, if rumors are to be believed.

Fans of the Spyro franchise were ecstatic to have a proper remastering made available in the form of Activision’s Spyro Reignited Trilogy, developed fully by Toys for Bob. The remastering relives the wonder of the original’s classic titles which included Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. The repackaged trilogy also came with updated graphics that still stayed true to the original’s vision, which was a boon for players who grew up with the games. All of this said, the remastering was only made available to players on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the Nintendo Switch and PC ports were relegated only to rumors.

It did give some fans hope, though, to know that a previous remastering of another classic trilogy, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, was ported to both the Nintendo Switch and PC after a previous report only stated a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release was coming. This seems to be the case now, if the following leak is to be believed.

The leak comes from user Nibel on Twitter who managed to find out that Spyro Reignited Trilogy was rated by the Taiwan ratings board for the PC, which means that it’s possible that the game may have already been finished, or close to completion at least. Checking the Taiwan Ratings site also show the rating to be legit, which most likely points out that this leak is true and Spyro Reignited Trilogy will indeed come to the PC at a later date. Check the tweet down below.

Another interesting thing to note is that the port is being developed by Iron Galaxy, the same developers who brought Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to the PC a few months after its release on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This just proves to me that Activision will most likely follow the same path as it did for the release of Crash Bandicoot.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is now available to play on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
