Rainbow Six Siege's North American Mini Major Stage 2 concluded its lower bracket finals and the results are here. The NA Majors were held on LAN, which is pretty exciting as all the other majors were played online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The North American Mini Major had some really exciting matches to watch this week, with all the matches played as a best of three format. We got to see a variety of maps in play, teaching us new strategies that can be implemented into our own games.

The matchup between DarkZero and Team SoloMid was the most hyped game of the playday. The first map was played on Consulate, which is an attacker-sided map. The ban phase was surprising as both teams banned Ying and Ash. The first round of defense was played on the Lobby site, which is pretty common in the North American region. TSM was unable to clear the roam strategy which was employed into meeting and Consul. TSM only had 11 seconds to execute with five defenders alive. It looked like DZ would take the first round with ease until Emilio "Geometrics" Leynez from TSM had amazing entry kills while playing Thermite. Geometrics even managed to get the plant down and TSM was able to win the round with Braden "Chala" Davenport getting the finals kills post-plant. The second round was another insane round for Tyler "Ecl9pse" McMullin as he managed to get a quad kill with Vigil while roaming on the third floor. DZ took the second round with ease because of Ecl9pse and Hyper getting the final kills.

The third round was another insane round from Jason "Beaulo" Doty as he managed to get a quad kill and secure the final kill when the timer was down to zero seconds. Both teams were going head to head winning alternative rounds, but TSM was able to break free of that before overtime. TSM was able to win Consulate with a 7-5 scoreline, with the match being super frag heavy.

The final map was played on Villa, which is a defender-sided map. TSM had a great start on round one of attack with Beaulo stepping up for his team. Beaulo was able to walk into the site in the last ten seconds and get two kills. After getting the kills, Beaulo started to plant with Matthew "Achieved" Solomon holding the planter. Achieved managed to grab the final two kills when DZ tried to stop the bomb from going off. Kyle "Mint" Lander from DZ had an amazing round five, as he managed to clutch a 1v4 situation by stopping the planter before it went down. The first half went 5-1 in the favor of DZ.

TSM on defense was so unpredictable that DZ was unable to counter properly. TSM was down in a 2v5 situation, which seemed nearly impossible to retake the man advantage. But, Geometrics managed to get one kill with Beaulo stacking the other four kills and clutching the impossible round for TSM. TSM was consecutively able to take rounds and took it all the way to overtime by playing super aggressively. The final round was TSM’s chance to attack and take the lower bracket win. On the final round, TSM cleared the roamers and executed on towards Kitchen rather than Laundry, which surprised DZ. The cover from the attackers allowed Geometrics to get the plant down and then the rest of TSM was able to get the kills when DZ tried to collapse into site trying to retake it. TSM managed to reverse-sweep DZ on Villa, taking the series with an 8-6 scoreline.

This match pushed TSM to the grand finals against SSG. SSG will have a map advantage against TSM, because TSM won through the lower brackets, and SSG directly went into the finals without dropping a game.
