A new collab is coming.
A new collab is coming. PUBG

A new collaboration is starting this week between PUBG: Battlegrounds and football sensation Son Heung-min. It’s going to run from July to October. There will be an in-game event along with the chance to earn, or even buy, exclusive Son-themed in-game items. Besides those, players also have the chance to grab real-world helmets autographed by Son.

You’re probably wondering who Son Heung-min is. He’s a player for the Tottenham Hotspur F.C. and the team captain of the South Korean national team. In a statement, Son Heung-Min shared that he has played the game since it was launched and is happy to be part of this collab. He revealed that a character has been designed to look like him and even mirror his style.

Collab Event

The Sonny Collaboration Event begins July 21 until August 3. There are special in-game event missions that players can take to earn points. The points can then be used to get those exclusive Son-themed items like the Level 3 helmet. More details about this are to be revealed later.

For those who won’t be able to complete the missions, Son-themed cosmetic items will be offered for sale in-game. A total of 13 items are made available and these include, but are not limited to:

  • Son’s hair and face (sold as a set)
  • x2 sets of Son-themed clothes
  • x2 sets of Son-themed emotes
  • x2 weapons

This promotion is available from July 21 to October 20.

Real-World Items

To probably “reward” those who take on the missions, players who earn the Son-themed Level 3 helmet in-game during the event have the chance to win real-world Level 3 helmets autographed by Son. A total of five winners will be selected and announced on August 11.

PUBG: Battlegrounds is a battle royale game where 100 players fight and the last player standing is declared the winner. The game was released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A mobile version, titled PUBG Mobile, is available on iOS and Android. A new game, PUBG: New State, is currently in development with pre-registration that started last February 25.
