It hasn't been long since Project Warlock II became available on Steam Early Access. However, the game is going to get better with a lot being planned for this year. Today, we take a peek into what's been happening and what are the plans for the future.

Developer Buckshot Software revealed in a post that they're not only working to improve the game but also Chapter 2. The release on Early Access helped, and thanks to forum comments, Discord messages, and Steam reviews, the team received a new perspective on the game. Some of the feedback even gave enough details to let the team identify what issues needed to be addressed.

Two patches have been released which, among others, added the reload option and nerfed Necrogirl since the Early Access launch. In terms of content, a Single Stage option and two additional difficulty levels are planned to be introduced soon.

It's going to be followed by weapons rebalancing and modifications. According to the team, it should allow for deeper customization options, especially for guns since players can now further upgrade their favorite tools of destruction.

Other additions arriving include:

  • Update
    • UI Graphics Overhaul
    • Level Layout and Visuals Overhaul
  • New Content
    • Photo Mode
    • Palmer's Campaign
    • Mutators Patch
    • Additional Music Tracks

While no date has been revealed, Chapter 2 will offer these upon launch:

  • Second Warlock - Urd
  • 6 New Levels
  • 16 New Monsters
  • 3 New Skills
  • 5 New Weapons
  • 20 Weapon Upgrades

Project Warlock II is a sequel to Project Warlock, a first-person shooter video game released in 2018 and takes inspiration from 90s shooters like Heretic, Doom, and Blood.

Key features of the game include:

  • 3 single-player chapters set in distinct worlds.
  • 3 playable characters with their own weapons, spells, and playstyles.
  • More than 20 weapons and upgrades to unlock for each character.
  • Huge vertical levels - up to 10 times bigger than in the first Project Warlock.
  • More than 35 types of enemies to combat - each with a distinct set of skills and tactics.
  • 3D visuals combined with 2.5D sprites and pixelated effects for a true retro feeling.
  • Heavy metal soundtrack, obviously.
  • Game saves - game saves everywhere and for everyone.

Project Warlock II is available on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.
