Project Vie Unveils Sketchy Screenshots, Claims 2018 Release Date

Is Project Vie even real? We honestly don't know yet.
Is Project Vie even real? We honestly don't know yet. ?

Alleged life simulation game Project Vie has released two gameplay screenshots and claims a 2018 release date. After months of baiting Sims fans with anticipation for a comprehensive game announcement, all we have is a lousy description and a couple screens that look like they belong in the year 2001.

Vie also released three statements describing the game, all of which don’t tell us anything new. Vie’s account says more information will be coming in the following “weeks and months” (WTF? How specific of you...) on PlayVie.org, but the web page links to nowhere. There’s also a photo of the game’s ‘About’ section, which we’ve transcribed along with the other new statements below.

-“Create convincing characters in stunning detail and build their personalities through powerful and intuitive tools.”

-“Shape their world in every sense as you build, decorate, and destroy. Change their neighborhoods and the places they'll go.”

-“Immerse yourself in their world as you create it. Get to know your characters, get to see their sights, and live their lives!”

-“ABOUT: Vie is the first title form an ensemble team of game industry veterans, entertainment innovators, and fresh talent. Team Vie was formed in late 2015 from a handful of game designers and seasoned developers, and we’ve been expanding ever since. Our vision is to create a next-generation, heavy-duty role-playing life simulator. Part of our bold goal is an equally bold approach to our marketing, relying solely on social media to engage fans and the greater community. This puts us in direct contact with the community and ensures that we ‘give the people what they want.’ we’ve opted to keep a low profile in a number of ways, opening up fully as Vie’s release date nears.”

While some players are still holding on to hope that Vie is simply a low-budget third-party developer working on a passion project that could end up giving Sims 4 a run for its money, others are calling complete bull. At this point, there’s more solid evidence for Vie being fake than real. Two Sims players claim the person behind Vie was banned from a private forum and is simply a troll taking it too far. (Read more about that here)

Whether Vie is real or not, this announcement was a bitch move, and actually gives us no information about the core game features. Nor does it explain how it’s different from The Sims . With no confirmation this project is actually in development, Sims fans should take all of this with a grain of salt. If this is a hoax, the brain behind it is clearly playing the long game.
