You can catch a ton of Legendary Pokemon in Ultra Sun and Moon. The Pokemon Company

Some of the most powerful Pokémon are the Legendaries and they are some of the hardest to capture (and find) in all of the Pokémon games. But in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, they are rather easy to find.

In the first Alola games, there were only a few Legendary Pokémon to find including the Ultra Beasts, Tapus and the box Legendaries, Solgaleo and Lunala (along with a hard to find Necrozma).

For Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, all of the Legendary Pokémon from past games are available through the Ultra Wormhole, a new minigame-esque region where trainers can find these elusive, powerful beasts similar to the hyperspace portals in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire .

We’ve compiled all of the Legendary Pokémon in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon and how to find them.

SPOILER ALERT! A lot of these Pokémon are story-related so be sure to complete the story mode before finding these Legendary Pokémon.

SOLGALEO/LUNALA

The box Legendaries of Sun and Moon, to catch Solgaleo and Lunala you’ll need to complete the story of the new Gen 7 games.

After saving Solgaleo/Lunala (depending on your version) from Necrozma you’ll need to talk to Lillie on Mahalo Trail where she’ll tell you that Nebby is better off with you.

This will activate a battle with either Solgaleo or Lunala.

COSMOG

After you have defeated the Elite Four, when it turns to Night in Ultra Sun or Day in Ultra Moon , you can return to the Altar of the Sunne/Moone with Solgaleo/Lunala in your team.

You'll be able to go to the Reverse World, where it is back to Day/Night depending on your game. Then, go to the Lake of the Sunne or Lake of the Moone from Ula'ula Meadow and reach the altar, with Solgaleo/Lunala still in your party. Cosmog will then appear. You don't need to battle it, it will join you automatically.

NECROZMA

You’ll need to defeat Necrozma a couple of times during the story of Ultra Sun and Moon but it’s not until you defeat it in its Ultra Form that you’ll finally be able to capture it.

Once it’s defeated in its Ultra Form, you’ll need to climb Mount Lanakila toward the League where Necrozma will be waiting, hurt. Wake it up with your Z-Ring to activate a battle with it where you’ll be able to capture it.

ZYGARDE

The Legendary that’s crossed over from the Kalos region, Zygarde will appear in the Resolution Cave after defeating the Pokémon League. Talk to Sina and Dexio on Route 16 after catching Zygarde to get the Zygarde Cells to transform your Legendary into the Power Construct form.

TAPUS

The Tapus are the guardians of the Alola Region and will play a big role in the fight against the Ultra Beasts. You’ll only be able to catch them after defeating the Pokémon League.

Tapu Koko

This is the first Tapu you’ll come up against after defeating the League. Go to the Ruins of Conflict on Melemele Island to face off against it. Capture it and you’ll receive the Tapunium Z-Crystal.

Tapu Lele

After defeating the League, head over to the Ruins of Life to start a battle with Tapu Lele.

Tapu Bulu

After defeating the League, head over to the Ruins of Abundance to start a battle with Tapu Bulu.

Tapu Fini

After defeating the League, go to the Ruins of Hope to start a battle with Tapu Fini.

ULTRA WORMHOLE

The Ultra Wormhole can be accessed from the Altar of Moone/Sunne and when you go through, you’ll be informed of a strong presence. You’ll need to go through a specific warp hole to find its corresponding Legendary.

They aren’t shiny locked so trainers can reset for shiny Legendaries.
