Possibly the biggest reveal from the Aug. 1 Pokémon Sun and Moon news was the introduction of Alola Forms, which change the typings of some classic Kanto Pokémon.

So far the Vulpix and Sandshrew lines have changed along with Exeggutor and there’s a passing mention of a Alola Form Marowak but that hasn’t been shown/confirmed yet. However, trainers should expect more of these type changes in the future, especially if a certain leak is to be believed.

The now infamous Chinese Pokémon Sun and Moon leak that seems to have revealed the final evolution of the starters had a lot more information than just that.

The Chinese Sun and Moon leak also mentions what upcoming new Pokémon will be based off of among other things, but the leak specifically mentions 12 more Alola Form Pokémon in Sun and Moon.

Of course, the following will spoil some elements of Sun and Moon so if you want to be surprised turn back now.

The following Pokémon in Sun and Moon are to have their types changed:

  • Alolan Rattata & Raticate are Dark-type

  • Alolan Butterfree is Bug/Psychic

  • Alolan Abra, Kadabra & Alakazam are Fighting-type

  • Alolan Nidoking & Nidoqueen are Poison/Fighting-type

  • Alolan Growlithe & Arcanine are Water-type

  • Alolan Doduo & Dodrio are Fighting/Flying-type

Until Nintendo and the Pokémon Company show and confirm these Alola Forms in Sun and Moon you should be somewhat skeptical, but considering the Final Starter Evolutions seems to be true, you may want to look out for these new Alola Forms in the near future.

So what do you think of the supposed new Alola Forms in Pokémon Sun and Moon? Who do you hope gets a new typing? Sound off in the comments section below.
