Hyper Training in Pokémon Sun and Moon will change how players train and compete with their Pokémon.

This new feature makes it easier to IV train Pokémon without having to go through a lot of breeding, and it only takes a simple Bottle Cap. Bottle Caps are a new item in Pokémon Sun and Moon that will allow trainers to max out a single stat’s IVs for battling.

Hyper Training can be done at the Hau’oli City Mall.

Bottle Caps are very rare items and essential for those trainers who want to raise some of the strongest Pokémon in the games. There are a few ways to obtain Bottle Caps and one way to farm them.

GIFTED/FISHING

The first way you can get Bottle Caps in Sun and Moon is to receive them as a gift. There are trainers who will gift Bottle Caps to you after defeating them. They can be found in Seafolk Village and the Poni Gauntlet.

You can also find them while fishing in the areas where you can. You’ll find different items while fishing and Bottle Caps can be among them, but they rarely appear.

You’ll also get a Bottle Cap when you download your special Magearna in December.

POKE PELAGO

The Poké Pelago is a great place to farm for Bottle Caps. While you can’t obtain Bottle Caps directly from the Poké Pelago you can get Shards, which you can trade in later.

By sending out your Pokémon in the caves of Poké Pelago, your Pokémon have a chance to bring back Shards. If you collect 30 Shards of the same color, you can exchange them for a Bottle Cap with the old man in the Festival Plaza.

Getting your Pokémon to collect Shards and then exchanging them is the best way to farm for Bottle Caps.

To learn how to collect Shards in Poké Pelago, refer to our guide.
