'Pokemon Legends: Z-A' Teases New Mega Evolution From Gen VI Game 'Pokemon X/Y'

Fans are ecstatic about this latest teaser from Game Freak.

There is a new "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" teaser based on a recent video shared by the official Pokémon account on X, and many are speculating that this could be referring to a new Mega Evolution coming to the game.

'Pokémon Legends: Z-A' Teases New Mega Evolution

The official X account of Pokémon recently shared a video, which shows many fans celebrating a creature known as Malamar. This has already been making waves online as speculations claim it could be the next Mega Evolution.

The video itself does not mention anything specific about Malamar being included in the upcoming game or having its own Mega Evolution version.

As seen in the video, users are going all out in celebration of the upside-down squid Pokémon which made its debut in the Kalos region, with many creating graffiti art, giving away plushies, and wearing shirts inspired by the creature.

The super fans shown on the video were speaking highly about their love for Malamar, showing off different accessories in honor of the creature.

Reports and user speculations claim that this video could be a potential hint regarding the next Mega Evolution coming to the game. Users have mixed reactions to Malamar getting its version of a Mega Evolution, and while it is a relatively famous Pokémon from the said game, others were in disbelief of this choice.

The Pokémon X Account did not mention anything about this being part of "Pokémon Legends: Z-A." It should be noted that confirmed Mega Evolutions and new creature additions like Hawlucha and Machamp's Mega faceoff, contained the game's hashtag, signifying that it is for the title.

'Pokemon X/Y': Gen VI's Mega Evolution Coming

Malamar first appeared on the 12-year-old game "Pokémon X/Y," which gave users a grand experience of the massive Kalos region. The Pokémon is best known to be the evolved version of Inkay, and features two types of power, namely Dark and Psychic.

It is also important to note that Malamar is among the few Pokémon which has a unique evolution requirement, with players required to turn their Nintendo 3DS console upside down after leveling up an Inkay to Level 30.

However, it is important to note that this is still a speculation based on the video and how fans reacted to The Pokémon Company's post as there are no official confirmations as of writing from the developers.

Should Malamar have its own Mega Evolution in "Pokémon Legends: Z-A," the creature would be the second Generation VI Pokémon to get this special power-up following Mega Hawlucha.
