Pokémon GO Puts the Spotlight on Galar for Ultra Unlock 3

Sometime last month, Pokémon GO introduced the Ultra Unlock, where players needed to complete various challenges to unlock new rewards. At the time of the announcement, two Ultra Unlocks were revealed with the third one teased.

We now have the details of Ultra Unlock Part 3 and this time, it’s all about Sword and Shield. It means Pokémon that first appeared in the Galar region of the Pokémon Sword and Shield are making their debut in this mobile game.

It’s from August 10 and all the way to August 31. Features of Ultra Unlock 3 are:

  • Skwovet and Wooloo appear more frequently in the wild.
    • Players can also look forward to finding the likes of Galarian Darumaka and Trubbish.
    • Those lucky enough could encounter Falinks.
  • These Pokémon hatching from 7-km Eggs:
    • Galarian Meowth
    • Galarian Ponyta
    • Galarian Slowpoke
    • Galarian Farfetch’d
    • Galarian Zigzagoon
    • Galarian Darumaka
    • Galarian Stunfisk
  • Trainers lucky enough may encounter these Pokémon:
    • Shiny Galarian Meowth
    • Shiny Galarian Farfetch'd
    • Shiny Galarian Weezing
    • Shiny Galarian Stunfisk
  • Complete event-exclusive Timed Research for the chance to encounter Pokémon that was first discovered in the Galar region.
  • Get themed Field Research tasks from PokéStops.
    • Those who finish the Field Research could encounter Skwovet, Wooloo, or Falinks.
  • ​Beginning August 19 at 6:00 p.m. EDT, uniforms that appeared in the Galar region will be available as avatar items in the game.
    • The Gym Challenger Uniform avatar item is free.
    • Dragon-Type Sport Uniform and Dark-Type Sport Uniform avatar items can be purchased at the shop.
  • ​Starting August 20 at 10:00 a.m. (local time), event-exclusive Gift stickers become available.
    • They can be picked up in the shop or by spinning Photo Discs at PokéStops and Gyms.

Raids

Trainers who want to test their skills can challenge different Pokémon in these raids:

  • Week 1 Raids
    • Schedule: August 20 to August 26
    • Features:
      • Galarian Slowpoke, Galarian Farfetch’d, Unown U, and Galarian Zigzagoon appear in one-star raids.
        • Trainers lucky enough could find a Shiny Galarian Farfetch'd or a Shiny Unown U.
      • Galarian Weezing, Lapras, and Falinks appear in three-star raids.
        • Those lucky enough could find a Shiny Galarian Weezing.
      • Zacian in its Hero of Many Battles form appears in five-star raids.
      • Mega Beedrill appears in Mega Raids.
  • Week 2 raids
    • Schedule: August 26 to September 1
      • Features:
        • Galarian Meowth, Galarian Ponyta, Unown U, and Galarian Darumaka appear in one-star raids.
        • Snorlax, Galarian Stunfisk, and Falinks appear in three-star raids.
        • ​Zamazenta in its Hero of Many Battles form appears in five-star raids.
        • Mega Pidgeot appears in Mega Raids.
