'Pokemon Go' 0.57 APK: Dataminers Find Customization Features, Shiny Code, Unown And More

The APK for the Pokémon Go Generation 2 update is finally available. Dataminers have been digging around through the code to find any hints as to what will be coming by the end of the week.

Here’s what’s in the Pokémon Go 0.57 APK Update straight from Silph Road:

New Customization Features

Ever wanted to change your avatar’s clothing to something a bit more unique? Code for new clothing options was found in the data mine, including options for: Skin, Shirt, Pants, Hat, Shoes, Eyes, Gloves, Socks, Belt, Necklace, and Glasses.

There are a ton of new clothing options available in the game already, but it seems like players will also be able to unlock new options. You can buy new clothes or unlock them through special events. Code referencing Avatar Awards which can occur for one of three reasons: as a medal reward, as an in-app purchase or as level reward.

Unown

I previously thought Unown wouldn’t be coming with this update, but I might have been wrong. Code for it’s one ability, Hidden Power, was found in the data mine along with three different badges.

Evolution Items

Five key items needed for evolution have been found in the game’s code:

• King’s Rock

• Metal Coat

• Sun Stone

• Upgrade

• Dragon Scale

New Wild Encounter Movements

In the announcement update, Niantic mentioned that Pokémon will do other things besides attack when you try to catch them. From the code, it looks like some Pokémon, depending on their type, will be able to dodge in different ways. Psychic and Electric Pokémon can levitate themselves, while others can jump or hover.

Other Important Stuff

• An Anniversary event was found in the code, meaning something big is coming after the Generation 2 update.

• Pokéball physics are going to change, code mentioning “perfectlaunchspeed” and ‘launchangle” was found.

• Four new music tracks were discovered for encounters and the map. They will change from night to day.

• More shiny code, yay!

• A news digest section is coming to the app so you don’t have to check on reddit for every important piece of news.

• Code for critical catching has been unearthed, but what that is still yet to be seen.
