PlayStation Network Down: Sony Neither Confirms Or Denies DDoS Attack

Here's a short guidebook on what to do when PlayStation Network is down: 1. Check Twitter to make sure it's really down. 2. Pray.

Many gamers are unable to log into PSN on Monday afternoon with desperate tweets from as far back as three hours ago. There's really no explanation to it, and the screen simply prompts: "PlayStation Network is currently undergoing maintenance. (WS-37432-9). Except it isn't maintenance.

"We're aware that some users are having trouble accessing PSN," tweeted @AskPlayStation. "Thanks for your patience as we investigate."

Back in mid-December, a hacker group known as Phantom Squad threatened to take down PSN and Xbox Live over the holidays. Christmas came and went but could this be the Phantom assholes sending a belated DDoS attack?
