Paint the Town Red is finally out of early access after seven years. This is followed by a new update that comes with lots of content, like the original soundtrack and Steam trading cards.

The game has also been released on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The console versions do not come with all the features, however, and as they are restricted to single-player only. They lack the Level Editor, Workshop levels, or Sandbox level, but include Scenarios, Arena, and other core features. The Steam version will get regular updates, while the console versions will have optional updates.

Additionally, the developers have added new explosive modifiers. These are:

  • The Boom Hands mod makes every hit as powerful as the Berserk punch.
  • The Splatter mod turns every punch into a bloody mess, as enemies will explode and parts will fly out with extreme force.
  • The Soft Voxels mod is a bit weaker but it is strong enough to deal damage.
  • The Everyone Hates Me mod, makes every NPC on the map come after you to take you down.
  • The Punching Only mod takes away the player's ability to kick and use weapons.
