Orisa going to fight Doomfist?
Orisa going to fight Doomfist? Blizzard

Overwatch is an amazing game, but it tends to release new content very slowly. That’s not always the worst thing; it allows the developers to spend enough time making sure everything they released is of a suitable quality. But it does leave fans always wanting more.

In a post on the Battle.net forums, fans asked why there wasn’t a comic or fully rendered CGI cinematic released with Orisa’s debut. Ana and Sombra both got something when they were announced, while all the mechanical centaur got was a short bio and a bland Developer Update, where Jeff Kaplan described a cool fight scene between Doomfist and some robots.

Michael Chu, lead writer on Overwatch , took to the Battle.net forums to assure fans that the OW team hasn’t abandoned the game’s story. “One of our goals for 2017 is to try to have more frequent story-related updates and content, so we're very busy with that,” Chu said. Orisa was the first release of the year, and there’s “something coming right around the corner.”

I’m going to put my theory craft hat on and say Orisa is going to have a new cinematic sometime in the next month. Lucio, Doomfist and the whole Numbani gang have only had their stories described and that’s not how Blizzard likes to do things. There’s no way that Doomfist is going to get to keep that gauntlet, the omnic and the DJ are going to be the only ones that can stop him.

Lucio + Orisa = A beat-up Doomfist
