Now that Blizzard’s interminable ARG for Overwatch hacker Sombra is over, Overwatch fans have a new character to obsess about for months as bits and pieces of info dribble out of Blizzard’s slavering maw. That character? Soundquake, a potential tank. Here’s what we know so far.

Possible Appearance

According to these images, our fellow Soundquake looks kind of like a Transformer: big, bulky and helmeted, in a red-and-yellow mech accented with white triangles.

His armor is sized similar to Reinhardt’s, but lacks that knightly Teutonic look, instead going for something closer to D.Va’s mech.

Possible Weapons

Based on a single line from the Overwatch cinematic trailer, where a little kid excitedly says, “In that one battle, they had Soundquake, he had like chest missiles”:

Probably a Tank

No one is that big for no reason. There’s a reason D.Va the off-tank hops into her giant mech for battle and Reinhardt’s whole body could fit like 27 Junkrats.

As for a chest missile weapon, that doesn’t exactly sound like support-class weaponry.

And… that’s it. That’s all we’ve got. As Overwatch creative director Chris Metzen put it in an interview with PCGamer :

“Other than really broad things like the Omnic Crisis and big historical moments, in many ways, we're kind of making this up as we go. With this one, I think we're taking our time and not trying to get too far ahead of it."

In other words, don’t sweat the small stuff. Blizzard may still be working on the little details that make up Soundquake. Who knows? Maybe we’ll get a Doomfist first instead.
