I use this No Man's Sky picture a lot. Hello Games

No Man’s Sky is a game with trillions of planets and just as many bugs. Hello Games, developers of the space exploration epic are planning on releasing a patch in the near future to try and address some of these problems.

On a blog post on the NMS website , head developer Sean Murray says that they are “working on fixes for the most critical issues” and that they will be moving to a ticketed support system next week. They are also hiring a bunch of new Quality Assurance testers to make sure the game runs as smoothly as possible.

For now, Murray has a few workarounds for those experiencing difficulties traversing through the galaxies. If you get stuck clipping into a wall and can’t move, try using your jetpack to push yourself off of the ground. If your game just completely crashes, remember that you can still access your previous saves and move on from there.

The biggest problem players seem to be having has to do with the pre-order ship. If you use the pre-order ship before acquiring a hyperdrive very early in the game, you can be stranded on a planet with no way of getting back into space. Murray says that in most cases the game will direct you to an NPC to get a quest to get the hyperdrive.

If you can’t find your pre-order ship, you might have redeemed it from the PSN store correctly or that the ship was incorrectly named. “The Alpha Vector ship is named Domanish S84 in-game, and (in the US) the Rezosu AZ65 is named Final Shadow XIV in game.”

A No Man’s Sky PC Patch was released last night to try and get as many player’s games up and running as possible. The hotfix should allow players with VC++ Redist 2010 to run the game. The developers are still working on these problems and are doing everything in their power to get the PC version of the game running as smoothly as possible:

• Shader Cache issue – means that framerate is initially stuttering on some cards. Whilst it resolves itself over time (~1 hour of play), we will fix this issue in a patch.
• SSE 4 – for CPUs that do not support SSE 4, it is causing the game to crash on boot (some of these area technically below min spec, but we don’t want it to crash!)
• Mouse controls jitter on foot – this caused by a combination of certain resolution and GFX card. A fix is in progress.
