It’s another big news week for Nioh, the upcoming action RPG from Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja, that began with an announcement many fans probably thought they’d never see. After more than 10 years in development, Nioh has finally gone gold. And that’s just the start of this week’s news dump.

The latest word on Nioh ’s development status actually broke in two places. The game’s official Twitter account was first to confirm the news, which is typically the case these days, followed by an update on the PlayStation Europe account for those who aren’t fluent in Japanese. There weren’t any photos of Sharpie-labeled discs to accompany the news, but Koei Tecmo did publish a handful of new Nioh screenshots to celebrate. There’s also a new post on the U.S. PlayStation Blog with more information on the game’s combat stances.

Elsewhere, NeoGAF poster rockman zx spotted a new GameReactor interview with members of Team Ninja, in which the studio confirms plans to add a free player-versus-player (PvP) mode to Nioh soon after launch. The interview also suggests the game’s season pass content will begin to trickle out soon after Nioh hits PS4. The game will feature an asynchronous multiplayer mode at launch, which lets players fight against AI-controlled versions of other people’s builds, but Nioh won’t feature true multiplayer until the aforementioned PvP update goes live.

For a closer look at Nioh, take a few minutes to watch the trailer embedded at the top of the post and/or the 4K clip (embedded below) that debuted last week. Then head down to the comments section and let us know if you’re planning to pick up a copy of Nioh when the game hits PlayStation 4 early next month.

Nioh is in development for the PlayStation 4. The game debuts Feb. 7.
