There’s a new Nioh trailer out this week, days after the publisher released nearly 10 minutes of new footage, but our latest look at Koei Tecmo’s upcoming action RPG doesn’t include any fresh Nioh gameplay. Instead, this week’s trailer focuses on the narrative we’ll see unfold when Nioh heads to PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro in 2017.

If you’ve been keeping a close eye on Nioh over the last few months there probably won’t be many surprises in this week’s trailer. The two-minute clip introduces all the game’s main players, including the English samurai (William) who will serve as protagonist and the forces of evil he’ll have to overcome to repel the yokai invading Japan. It also hints at the magic we’ll see on display throughout the Nioh campaign, which puts a fantastical spin on the people and places that defined the Sengoku period of Japanese history.

The new Nioh story trailer includes appearances from several of William’s allies, too, including Tokugawa Ieyasu, founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, along with characters created specifically for the game. And the same large demon featured in countless other pieces of Nioh marketing makes another appearance in this week’s preview.

For an early look at Nioh and the many characters you’ll meet during William’s journey, take a few minutes to watch the new story trailer from Koei Tecmo. Then hit the comments section and let us know if you’re planning to pick up Nioh when the game debuts early next year.

Nioh is in development for PlayStation 4. The game debuts Feb. 7, 2017.
