Nintendo Switch Concierge Makes Things Easy for New Users

Good news for new users.
Good news for new users. Nintendo

Nintendo launched a new program that is aimed at making life easier for Switch users, particularly new ones. The Concierge is a no-cost program that assists users in setting up their Switch system. What makes it unique is the one-on-one virtual meeting with a Nintendo representative.

Note that this one offers a virtual meeting. That means it’s not a chat or even a call service.

How to Set a Meeting

Here’s how this new program works. The first step asks users to Pick a Topic. It should be the most relevant topic that the user wants to learn. This is important considering that there’s a 30-minute time limit and thus the representative may not be able to answer additional questions. Topics include:

  • Nintendo Switch 101
  • Games (Getting Started)
  • Games (What to Play Next)
  • Security and Privacy
  • Nintendo Account
  • Customization

The next step is for the user to Pick a Date and Time for the virtual meeting. This isn’t automatic as Nintendo is going to send a confirmation email for the user to Confirm their Spot.

Once all is done, just wait for the scheduled appointment and connect to have a video chat with the representative.

Conditions

There are, however, certain conditions for users to use the service. These are:

  • Since there is limited availability on the sessions, it’s a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The offer is non-transferable and available to those who have just bought a Switch.
  • Participation is limited to one session per person.
  • The service is available to users at least 18 years old who reside in the US.

Of course, there’s the usual condition that by using the service, users agree that Nintendo may collect information like, among others, video images of them or their voice.

Premium Service

While the Concierge is free, the Switch has an online subscription service called Nintendo Switch Online. This premium service offers access to a variety of features like access to a wide range of Nintendo games, online multiplayer, and even promotions and offers. There’s an Individual Membership offered at $3.99 a month. A Family Membership is also offered that supports a maximum of eight account holders, available at $34.99 per year.
