It’s been an eventful patch day for Guild Wars 2. The latest patch not only included a massive overhaul of abilities and stats across many of the game’s classes and elite specializations, but also some notable changes to the game world and the start of yet another No Downed-State event for Guild Wars 2’s rigorous World vs. World game mode. The update also brings with it new items available in the Cash Shop, particularly the highly-anticipated Ritualist Package and the War Eternal Supply Drop Requisition item.

In the original Guild Wars, the Ritualist class gave players abilities that allowed them to ‘channel other-worldly energies that summon allies from the void and employ mystic binding rituals that bend those allies to the Ritualist's will.’ In honor of the Ritualist class (which is no longer present in Guild Wars 2), ArenaNet has released the Ritualist Package - a costume/skin set that allows players to once again don the gear of the original game’s spiritual summoner class.

Additionally, the next episode of Guild Wars 2’s Living World is also on its way. Titled ‘War Eternal’, the upcoming episode will continue the ever-evolving story of Guild Wars 2 and, like its predecessors, change the world-state permanently. In anticipation of War Eternal, a new item called the War Eternal Supply Drop Requisition is now available in the in-game Cash Shop.

The War Eternal Supply Drop Requisition works similary to ‘battle passes’ or ‘season passes’ found in other games. Once purchased, the War Eternal Supply Drop Requisition rewards players periodically with in-game items, including mounts, cosmetics, dyes, outfits, boosters, and even vouchers to spend in the Cash Shop. However, unlike other ‘battle pass’ items in other games, players don’t really have to do anything or perform any kind of task to receive their rewards, making the Requisition more akin to an item-subscription that pays out every Tuesday until May 14.

What do you think about the latest update released for Guild Wars 2? Will you be getting your hands on the new Ritualist Armor Set in honor of the Ritualist class in the original Guild Wars? Or are you more interested in the ‘battle pass’/item subscription available through the War Eternal Supply Drop Requisition. Let us know in the comments section below!
