Six minutes of new Code Vein footage hit YouTube this week, via AllGamesDelta, featuring many of the same people and places from a recent Weekly Famitsu story. The two-minute tour of Revenants HQ provides a sneak peek at two extreme environments we’ll explore when Code Vein hits PC and consoles later this year.

Players will need to stay on high alert when they visit the City of Falling Flame. The fiery locale is home to plenty of evil, including a heavily-armored (and antlered) knights in this week’s Code Vein footage. But living enemies aren’t the zone’s only threat. Players will also have to watch where they walk, lest they suffer burn damage from the environment, and walls of fire line many pathways throughout the zone. The video even features an appearance from an NPC named Louis, one of several potential hunting buddies who can follow players into the field, and the blood magic Code Vein’s pseudo-vampires have at their disposal.

The new Code Vein b-roll also includes a trip to the Ridge of Frozen Souls, a snow-covered mountain that will present vastly different challenges than the City of Falling Flame. This leg of the trip features Mia Karnstein, one of the first party members introduced by Bandai Namco, and features several sword-wielding enemies. Interestingly, the Ridge seems to be the remains of a mountain road or cliff-side village because numerous signs of human life (like a dilapidated car) line the frozen pathway. There’s also a second Blood Veil, if you’re intrigued by Code Vein’s take on magic weaponry.

Code Vein is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game debuts in early 2018.
