The last Need For Speed Legends DLC arrived more than a month ago and let's be honest: The game is getting a little stale. Finally, it looks like EA will finally deliver its first Need For Speed update of 2016 after all.

A recent tweet from the official @NeedforSpeed Twitter account announced that a new "Under The Hood" blog post will arrive next week, which means a new update is expected to arrive next week as well.

Sadly little is known about the new update but there's no shortage of new content that NFS players are desperately asking for. In the last Legends update, Need For Speed brought us a series of challenges that ultimately led to a boss battle against Eddie, the legendary antagonist from the Need For Speed: Underground. The update also raist the maximum REP limit to level 70, featured a mute calls function, new improvements to AI, bug fixes, and stability improvements.

The last update also featured 113 new visual customization items including custom big brake kits with a selection of brake calipers and rotors. New wraps, decals, collectibles and trophies were also added in the content. Finally, you can also win Eddie's own R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec too.

Additional cars that were available in past updates include Morohoshi's own Boso-style Lamborghini Diablo complete with neon lights and a crazy purple finish. Neon lights are one of the features the new DLC is expected to deliver completely. Fans were definitely upset when they learned that the neon lights were only available on Morohoshi's Lambo.

Additional new features that fans have been begging for include new challenges, even more exterior customization options across the board, additional space in the garage, as well as new vehicles to join the game. One of the more popular requests from players include the Nissan 350Z.

We're not completely sure what sort of updates Need For Speed will deliver, but the official NFS "Under The Hood" blog post will definitely reveal a lot of new details. Stay tuned in the days ahead as we learn more about the next Need For Speed DLC.
