These lists arrive amidst an onslaught of player ratings emerging from the 2K camp over the past few weeks. We’ve amassed a huge list of key players and complete rosters for every all-time team in the league. For anyone who follows the NBA, none of these names should be too surprising. While there’s some debate to be had about specific ranks, pretty much any athlete on this page should serve your team and their position well.

That last bit is exceptionally important to note given the Team Proficiency AI features revealed in Tuesday’s blog post. New AI changes ensure that the best players function best in their typical positions. While some of the players listed here may be versatile enough to conquer the entire court, it’s going to be doubly important from an AI perspective to have the right player in the correct role. In other words, Paul George may be a premier small forward, but you wouldn’t want to play him as your center.

As with most NBA 2K games, this year’s title features several under-the-hood adjustments to make the best players shine even brighter. In a blog post earlier this month, 2K detailed various positive adjustments to dribbling, triple threats, steals and blocks. True to the title’s simulation nature, the most sophisticated maneuvers in the NBA have become easier to perform.

NBA 2K18 comes to PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Switch and PC on Sept. 19. Check back Thursday for details about the rejuvenated MyPark mode.

NBA 2K18 PS4 Review - Great Basketball With A Price
The action is fun and fluid, but the VC grind gets its grubby hands on everything and takes the shine off that noteworthy achievement.
  • Great basketball mechanics
  • Easy for new players to learn
  • MyGM's story content is a great starting point for the future.
  • The Neighborhood social hub feels empty and pointless
  • Microtransactions ruin what would otherwise be a fun experience
  • MyCareer story is a bit dull
