Motor City Machine Guns Join 'WWE 2K25' Roster in New Wave DLC Pack: What's Included Inside?

Two of the hottest names in women's wrestling today will also be added.

Before we play the Attitude Era Superstars Pack in September, "WWE 2K25" is allowing us to play the legendary tag team of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, popularly known as the Motor City Machine Guns (MCMG).

2K announced that the famous duo is officially stepping into the virtual ring, thanks to the New Wave DLC pack, which will launch on May 14.

Motor City Machine Guns Make Their WWE 2K Franchise Debut

WWE

For the first time in franchise history, fans will have the opportunity to play as Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, a team universally known for transforming tag team wrestling.

With their effortless chemistry, technical prowess, and high-speed offense, the Motor City Machine Guns have competed in promotions worldwide and at last secured a place in "WWE 2K25's" top roster.

Ahead of the DLC release, 2K Games unveiled a gameplay teaser featuring the team's arrival, complete with their iconic taunts and pyro-charge energy. The video went viral within wrestling communities, providing fans with a first look at just how authentic and charged the in-game representation will be.

What Comes with the 'WWE 2K25' New Wave DLC Pack?

In addition to MCMG, the New Wave DLC pack adds some heat with two of the most scorching names in women's wrestling currently:

  • Stephanie Vaquer, who is the reigning NXT Women's Champion
  • Giulia, the previous champion and international sensation

Both stars have faced off one another on Monday Night Raw recently, bringing their NXT feud to the main roster as part of a storyline that has rapidly turned into one of the most personal rivalries of the year.

MCMM's WWE Journey: Short But Mighty

Though their in-game arrival is making waves, Sabin and Shelley's brief stay in WWE was far from forgettable. According to Sports Illustrated, the duo won the WWE Tag Team Championships shortly after arriving, defeating New Bloodline's Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa in only their second on-TV bout. Their run might have lasted only 42 days, but it was felt immediately.

The Motor City Machine Guns later lost the titles to #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) on December 6 SmackDown. The two teams would later face each other in an exciting 2-out-of-3 Falls match at Royal Rumble, but MCMG again came up short.

TLC Match Goes Down in History

Perhaps one of the best recollections from MCMG's time in WWE occurred at a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs main event on SmackDown as they took on The Street Profits and #DIY in a bout lauded as among the greatest TLC matches in recent history.

For WWE fans, this match should be included in WWE lore. It's the most memorable MCMG match in wrestling history. Although many feel that their short-term stint should have extended to make room for more moments like these.
