Minecraft Console Edition just got a new update—the second this month. But don’t get too excited. The newest update is just for bug fixes and is even less interesting than the last one, which at least added new skins and trophies for us to play around with. Alas, the update— known as TU35 on Xbox 360, CU23 on Xbox One and 1.26 on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita—is a very minor one. The much-yearned-for Combat Update is still nowhere in sight.

Minecraft New Update: Just Bug Fixes

Here’s the full changelog for the tiny new Minecraft update, via the wiki:

  • Fixed Guardians no longer spawning after loading a save.
  • Removed change that restricted changing to third-person camera while running or performing other actions.
  • Removed change that made sprint activation more sensitive.
  • Fixed issue with Mushroom Block textures (PS3 Only).

So basically it’s all just bug fixes this time. All of them sound pretty necessary—I’ve noticed the sprinting issue, but none of the others—but relatively minor. No new trophies or anything this time!

Meanwhile, the big kahuna is still out there: The Combat Update, which debuted on the PC Edition back in February, hasn’t reached consoles yet. That’s not exactly surprising: 4J Studios, which makes the console versions, is developing on a huge number of platforms at once, and it usually takes the company a while to roll out new versions. The newest major update took over a year, but was well worth the wait. Don’t expect the Combat Update just yet—it’s only been out on PC for a month, after all. In the meantime, it’s just going to be bug fixes and skins for a little while. And hey, that’s something.
