Metro Exodus has been out for about a month now, and developer 4A just released the game’s first major content update. Along with the expected bugs and gameplay tweaks, the Metro Exodus Ranger Update adds tons of new features.

The biggest addition is a New Game+ mode. Like other modes of this type, the New Game+ mode allows you to play through Metro Exodus again, starting with all your current weapons and upgrades. The Metro Exodus New Game+ mode also includes a new set of collectibles, with a new achievement/trophy to unlock once you find them all.

It’s not all easy with New Game+ though. Enemies are changed to have more armor and use more explosives, bad weather occurs more frequently and radiation sticks around forever. This makes the gas mask way more important. There’s also an “Iron Mode” that disables mid-level saves. Players can only save when moving between levels.

Also added in the Ranger Update is developer commentary tracks. When playing in New Game+, players can turn on developer commentary in the settings. This adds audio tracks for players to find throughout each level, that when collected, play audio from the team at 4A discussing the behind-the-scenes processes that went into each area.

Smaller updates include further adjustments for controller sensitivity, Ukranian localization, bug fixes, performance adjustments and other changes you’d expect to see in a game patch.

The Ranger Update includes platform-specific updates as well, such as mouse and keyboard support for Xbox One, light support for PS4’s DualShock controllers and added RTX enhancements on PC. A full list of patch notes for PC can be found here, and a full list of patch notes for PS4 and Xbox One can be found here.

The Metro Exodus Ranger Update is roughly 6GB on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The update is now available to download on all three platforms.
