Marvel’s Avengers had a very rocky launch. The player base quickly dried up and the publisher Square Enix suffered a loss on the title. However, the developer is attempting to revive the game with free updates and patches. One important update rolled out today and added quite a good amount of content.

The update 1.4.0 went live for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The Stadia version of the update will be available later. Kate Bishop is the new hero added by this update. She has access to a bow and arrow and a cool-looking sword.

A new Operation called Marvel’s Avengers Operation: Kate Bishop – Taking Aim is now available for free. Keep in mind that the new operation doesn’t support random matchmaking yet. So, either you play it solo or with your friends via the outpost or Quinjet.

A new hero means a new challenge card. Kate Bishop's challenge card is available too. It will give you all sorts of cool cosmetic items for your Hawkeye.

The update also made a few changes to gameplay elements and graphics settings. You can now choose whether to enable or disable takedown from the options menu. High contrast mode is now accessible in the settings menu.

The update brings tons of bug fixes as well. Here are the highlights of the latest patch:
