Amumu might be the saddest mummy in League of Legends , but today he is especially sad. Sewn Chaos Amumu and Blitzcrank have officially been cancelled according, to skin producer, I Am Carlos. As of now, these skins have officially been canned and Riot has no plans to release them in the future. Amumu and Blitzcrank will be getting more skins, but there’s no set timeline for when that might happen.

In a blog post released late Tuesday night, Carlos said, “Sometimes we work on things that just don’t end up hitting our quality bar. And usually, we try to cut those things well before they actually hit PBE, but in this case we were a little too late. The truth is neither Sewn Chaos Blitzcrank nor Sewn Chaos Amumu hit the quality expected of our recent skins, so we’re making the call to remove them.”

Riot has a very high benchmark for quality when it comes to skins in League of Legends . Without dope-looking skins everyone wants to buy, Riot wouldn’t make very much money. It has pulled skins before because of negative fan reactions. In early April, Riot showed off the skins to commemorate SK Telecom winning the Season 5 World Championship and fans were disappointed. They had no new recalls, very little VFX and no skin for Easyhoon, SKT’s sub mid laner.

In late July, the updated SKT skins appeared in LoL and were very much worth the wait. Riot took inspiration from the fans and created some of the best team skins so far. It’s sad to see two cute skins go the way of Ao Shin, but know that Riot will release better skins in the coming months to compensate.
