League of Legends: Patch 13.7 Balances Champions for Upcoming Mid-Season Invitational

The League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational, aka MSI, is less than a month away but Riot already implemented balancing changes ahead of the tournament via Patch 13.7.

The notable junglers nerfed in this update include Sejuani, Vi, and Lee Sin. Sejuani may have been too effective at clearing objectives, especially when she’s teamed up with other melee champions. To make Sejuani players think twice when engaging enemies, the cooldowns of her Artic Assault and Glacial Prison are now 19/17.5/16/14.5/13 seconds and 130/110/90 seconds, respectively. The damage cap of her passive, Fury of the North, against epic monsters also saw a decline from 300 to 250.

Those who play Vi are making her more tanky than what Riot had intended. In League of Legends Patch 13.7, her power is shifted to reward AD stackers more than those who opt for a tankier version of this heavy-punching vixen.

For instance, the maximum physical damage of her Vault Breaker ability is rebalanced from 110/160/210/260/310 (+140% bonus AD) to 90/140/190/240/290 (+160% bonus AD). Besides that, the damage calculation of Relentless Force is changed from 10/30/50/70/90 (+110% AD) (+90% AP) to 0/15/30/45/60 (+120% AD) (+100% AP).

Lee Sin is one of the most popular champions in League of Legends, so much so that he’s been a mainstay in tournaments like MSI and Worlds. To make sure that he doesn’t overshadow other junglers, his base attack damage has been reduced slightly from 68 to 66. His base armor saw a two-point decrease as well, going down from 36 to 34.

    • Cooldown: 12/11/10/9/8 seconds > 12/11.5/11/10.5/10 seconds
    • Shield Amount: 60/100/140/180/220 (+40% AP) > 60/95/130/165/200 (+40% AP)
  • Passive: Shurima’s Legacy
    • Duration: 30 seconds > 45 seconds
    • Cast Range: 500 > 700
  • Conquering Sands
    • Mana Cost: 65/70/75/80/85 > 70/80/90/100/110
    • Stab Range: 370 > 325
  • Arise!
    • Magic Damage: 0-110 (based on level) (+50/60/70/80/90) (+55% AP) > 0-92 (based on level) (+50/67/84/101/118) (+55% AP) (Note: Assuming W max, this is a damage per hit buff that scales from +0 to +10 by level 11 and then stays there.)
    • Mana Cost: 40 at all ranks > 40/35/30/25/20
  • Passive: New Destiny
    • Critical Strike Bonus Per Pellet: 20% > 30%
  • Collateral Damage
    • Cooldown: 120/90/60 seconds > 100/80/60 seconds
  • Passive: Berserker’s Rage
    • Attack Speed: 60-100% (based on level) > 50-100% (based on level)
  • Undertow
    • Physical Damage: 70/120/170/220/270 (+100% bonus AD) > 65/115/165/215/265 (+100% bonus AD)
