Video game awards might not be as popular as Oscars per se, but they are sure attracting more and more people every year. Just a few months ago, The Game Awards 2020 took place and it drew quite a large number of viewers. Another event, the 2021 BAFTA Games Awards, will take place on March 25 and hopefully, it gains quite an audience as well.

There are a total of 18 awards of which 17 will be decided by a panel of judges, and one will be decided by the people. You can vote for EE Game of the Year over here. The nominated games are:

  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons
  • Call of Duty: Warzone
  • Hades
  • Ghost of Tsushima
  • The Last of Us Part 2
  • Valorant

To no one’s surprise, The Last of Us Part 2 leads the nomination in most categories. The critically acclaimed game is nominated for 13 awards out of 18. It is closely followed by Ghost of Tsushima with 10 nominations and then by Hades with eight nominations.

The previous record of highest nomination was held by Death Stranding and Control with 11 nominations. My favorite game, Doom Eternal has only been nominated for two awards (sad noises).

There’s no doubt that PlayStation-exclusive games are making waves. Spider-Man: Miles Morales is nominated for seven awards, Sackboy: A Big Adventure for four awards, Astro’s Playroom for three awards, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake for two. You can check out the complete list of nominees over here.

The event will be held online only via livestream and will be hosted by Elle Osili-Wood. If you won’t be able to watch the stream, then don’t worry as we will let you know who won and who didn’t.

So what do you think? Are you excited about BAFTA 2021? Which game will you vote for? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
