Since its debut in 2013, fans of Injustice: Gods Among Us have been waiting for an announcement of a sequel. A new report claims the wait will be over soon.

According to gameblog.fr, fans will be getting an Injustice 2 announcement very soon. The site’s sources say that an official Injustice 2 announcement will be made in the coming days or just before this year’s E3 event, which begins June 14.

The French-based gaming site’s report also claims the game will use the same engine as Mortal Kombat X and will arrive March 2017 for PS4, Xbox One and PC only.

With E3 so close, the rumors of surprise game announcements are rampant, so take this with a grain of salt until more substantial evidence presents itself, or NetherRealm Studios makes a formal announcement.

NetherRealm Studios has put out some of the best fighting games in recent years. With Mortal Kombat X and Injustice: Gods Among Us elevating the genre to a new standard, rumors of NetherRealm’s next game mostly center around the sequel to Injustice .

With a rich library of heroes and villains for Injustice 2 to choose from, fans can expect more superhero fighting with some new characters to choose from, hopefully.
