A few days ago, Guerilla Games, the developer of Horizon Zero Dawn, announced that the planned sequel has been delayed to next year. They also revealed that players will be able to pre-order Forbidden West in a couple of days. Well, they weren’t lying.

You can pre-order the highly anticipated title for both PS4 and PS5 from over here. While we don’t normally recommend pre-ordering the game, Guerilla Games have proven themselves to be competent. Pre-ordering the game gives you access to exclusive in-game rewards like Nora Legacy Outfit and Nora Legacy Spear. But just remember, even CD Projekt was kept in high regard. **Cyberpunk Flashbacks**

No Free Next-Gen Path

There is one disappointing news though. The game doesn’t offer a free next-gen path, which contradicted what Sony said last year. They claimed that the game could be upgraded to the PS5 version for free. However, that is not the case. The Launch Edition, also known as Standard Edition, costs $59.99 on PS4 and $69.99 on PS5. The Special Edition of the game costs $69.99 on PS4 and $79.99 on PC. As you can see, there is no free upgrade path.

Different Editions

There are three other editions of the game as well. Namely, Digital Deluxe Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Regalla Edition. All three contain both PS4 and PS5 versions of the game. However, their price ranges from $79.99 to $259.99.

There are a total of five different editions of the game available. Each of them is offering slightly different content. We have covered what each offers in great detail in another article.

About The Game

Horizon Forbidden West will release exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 18, 2022. PC port has not been announced, but given that the first game was ported to PC years later, I would expect the same for the sequel. Sony has already said that the PC market is important, but PlayStation still takes priority.
