The latest update for the competitive third-person fighting game For Honor is here. Patch 2.36.0 features the rework of a particular hero, the Conqueror.

Conqueror Rework

The developers know that the Conqueror was more of a defensive hero than an offensive one. That’s why they’ve made some significant changes in Patch 2.36.0.

First, the original Full Block Stance was very difficult to use and only accessible in certain states. To make it more viable, it can now be used as a recovery cancel to catch enemies that use dodge attacks. Besides that, this move now allows stamina regeneration after 0.3 seconds.

Flail Uppercut can now be performed after a Shield Bash. This is a significant change since the Conqueror now has a better follow-up attack and is now more capable of executing opponents in 1v1 combat.

The developers also introduced a new move called the Scutage Collection. This can be performed by pressing light attack after a Shield Bash or any superior block. It has a 360-degree trajectory, deals 15 damage, and costs nine stamina to perform. This is the perfect move to use when the Conqueror is surrounded by enemies.

The other changes to the Conqueror can be found below:

  • Zone Attack
    • Now deals 15 damage (from 8)
    • Can no longer be held
    • No longer has Superior Block
    • Now initiates chains
  • Opener Heavy Attacks
    • Top version now deals 27 damage (from 24)
    • Side versions now deal 24 damage (from 22)
    • Charged versions are now all 700ms (from 800ms for top)
    • Charged versions now need to charge for 600ms to gain Unblockable (from 1000ms)
    • Charged versions now deal 28 damage (from 32 for top and 30 for side)
    • Removed Superior Block property
    • Conqueror can no longer Block while charging Heavy Attack
    • Removed soft feint to Shield Uppercut
    • Can now be feinted
  • Chained Heavy Attacks
    • Top Chained Heavy attack is now 800ms (from 900ms)
    • All sides are now Unblockable
    • Improved weapon trajectories on side versions to have more reach
    • Removed soft feint to Shield Uppercut
    • Can now be feinted
  • Shield Bash from Dodge
    • No longer drains stamina
    • No longer pauses stamina regeneration
    • Now chains to Flail Uppercut or Scutage Collection on hit

    • No longer drains stamina
    • No longer pauses stamina regeneration
    • Now chains to Flail Uppercut or Scutage Collection on hit
    • Now costs 10 stamina

So, what can you say about the Conqueror’s rework? Do you love all of the changes, or is there still something that you want the devs to improve on?
