For many people, playing video games is a good way to relax. However, there are times when one is too tired to even do it. Hidden Treasures in the Forest of Dreams hopes to change that by offering something different. It offers relaxing gameplay to relieve stress at the end of the day.
So how does it work? The goal is to discover different treasures including plants, monuments, and creatures. All of these are distributed at random on a procedurally generated terrain.
Each dream has different treasures to collect and it takes about 45 minutes to finish a dream. The game ends when all types of treasures are discovered.
Features of the game include:
- Safe and soothing experience for adults and children.
- Lots of animals and strange creatures to discover.
- Graphics straight out of a dream.
- 300+ treasures to collect.
- 500+ decor items fuel a fine-tuned procedural engine.
- Billions of Dreams to explore.
- Original music score composed by Jordan Guerette
According to a statement released by the founder of Paleo Games, it was in 2016 when he was going through a stressful time and making things more difficult was his diagnosis of adrenal fatigue. In addition, he had little mental stamina when the day ended. This meant he didn’t have the energy to do action games or solve complex puzzles. However, he also knew he didn’t want to give up playing video games.
He started playing No Man’s Sky and it served as the inspiration he needed to come up with a game that offered a similar pathless experience but had fewer gameplay constraints. He went on to say that when he came up with Hidden Treasures in the Forest of Dreams, he realized that he didn’t just make a title for gamers but also for those who needed it like him.
Hidden Treasures in the Forest of Dreams is now available on PlayStation 4.
