A remastered edition of Actraiser Renaissance is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS. The game comes with remastered HD graphics and different quality of life updates that are sure to catch the interest of new players and excite long-time fans.

This 2D action-platformer and city-building simulation game was first released in North America back in November 1991 on the Super NES. Back then, it received some good reviews with some citing the unique combination of gameplay styles.

So what’s the game all about? Players take on the role of the Lord of Light but interact as an angel. With their miraculous powers, players can trigger earthquakes and summon lighting to remove obstacles that are preventing the growth of the civilization.

The new updates and features in this game version include:

  • Remastered HD graphics of the characters, map, monsters, and battle backgrounds and effects.
  • See newly designed city-building simulation segments including a new region and developmental stages for cities.
  • Players can use new magic like ice, fire, and other magical elements.
  • Players can dodge, attack, and slash through upward and downward motions. This should allow for a more dynamic action experience.
  • Enjoy the new real-time strategy “Settlement Siege” feature.
  • Listen to the remastered original soundtrack along with 15 new music tracks. There’s the option to toggle between the original soundtrack and the newly remastered soundtrack.
  • New auto-save and difficulty settings feature available.

The game is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Those who buy the game before November 1 get an early purchase bonus, containing a wallpaper and a mini soundtrack with five in-game songs. This offer is valid only for those who get the game through Steam, the Nintendo store website, or the Nintendo eShop.

PlayStation 4 players need not worry as they have a bonus of their own. Those who buy the game for this platform before November 1 will get the mini soundtrack and an original PS4 theme with background music.
