his sequel will reportedly give fans a look into what Master Chief is doing after the events of "Halo Infinite," particularly as it had an open-ended ending that left players wanting more.

'Halo Infinite' Sequel Is Coming But With a Catch

A new Canon Fodder blog post from the official Halo Waypoint shared news about what is ahead for the "Halo Infinite" game, particularly as fans have been asking for a sequel or continuation of the game's story that would explain more about the events that transpired. The team confirmed that there is an upcoming story that would continue the events from "Halo Infinite," but there is a catch.

The catch is that this new "Halo Infinite" sequel will not come in the form of a new story DLC for the title or as a new game that 343 Industries and Xbox Studios would release in the future. This is because it will come in the form of a book, specifically a novel by writer Kelly Gay's chronicling what happened afterward to Master Chief called "Halo: Edge of Dawn."

Gay will yet again write a new novel which will now feature a direct story connection to the "Halo Infinite" game, with the team revealing that it will be a Master Chief story. It will delve into what happened to the renowned leader of the Blue Team of the Spartan-II supersoldiers after the events of "Halo Infinite's" ending.

Many fans were left wondering what happened to the renowned lead character of the franchise after his work on eliminating the threats, particularly as the fight is not yet over for him.

Will You Experience This In-Game?

According to the blog post, this upcoming novel is set immediately after the events of "Halo Infinite" where Master Chief defeated the War Chief Eschraum and took down the 'Banished.' Here, Master Chief will be continuing the battle on Zeta Halo, and he will be joined by the loyal pilot, Fernando Esparza, and a new AI companion in their quest to stop evil.

The novel will tell a new adventure for Master Chief, especially in looking for a young combat medic that the Banished has held for months, subjecting this soldier to torture and imprisonment. Master Chief will still face the threat of the elusive blade master known as Jega'Rdomnai, with the character "hellbent" on getting vengeance over what happened in their previous encounter.

The novel from Gay is still under development and the blog post did not reveal any release dates. Alongside this, there were no mentions of this being adopted into a game to continue "Halo Infinite."
