Are you enjoying the Genshin Impact Windtrace event so far? For those of you who do not know, the game is currently having a special PvP event wherein you take part as a Rebel or a Hunter in a “hide-and-seek” format.

Players who want to participate can go to Gygax in Mondstadt. Joining the special PvP game mode will allow you to earn a special currency known as Windtrace Coins. You can use them to buy certain things, such as Primogems, character exp, Mora, and more.

Acquiring Windtrace Coins

You must use the co-op mode to start a randomized game via auto-matching. If you use custom co-op parties, they won't get the coins.

Once you are in, your normal skills will turn into Windward Arts and they are different depending on which side you chose.

Rebels will be given abilities that can help them hide from hunters. For instance, using the “Disguise” ability will turn you into a common object that is native to the area.

Conversely, hunters will be given Windward Arts that focus more on helping them find rebels. Sensor Aura, for example, will notify you if someone is present in a particular area. Once a rebel is spotted, you can then use the “Capture” command to dispel their disguise and catch them.

The amount of Windtrace Coins to be given is affected by conditions, like each victory will reward you 100 coins by default but hunters who captured rebels will be given 80 coins for each rebel.

Keep in mind that while there is no limit to how many Windtrace PvPs you can participate in, there is a cap to how many coins you can earn in a given day.

At the start of the event (last May 14), players can only earn as much as 1,200 coins. Each subsequent day will raise the cap by 600. So, you can earn as much as 1,800 coins on the second day, 2,400 on the third day, and so on.

The Genshin Impact Windtrace Event is currently ongoing and will end on May 24 at 3:59:59 p.m. (local server time). How many coins have you gotten so far?
