A real-time strategy game with an interesting take on World War I has been unveiled during Gamescom 2019 Opening Night Live Show. Titled Iron Harvest, the RTS title has been confirmed for a multiplatform launch by publisher Deep Silver and developer King Art Games.

Set in an alternate reality of the 1920’s after the Great World War, Iron Harvest takes place in Europe while it is still recovering from the destruction brought by the war. During this time of rebuilding, the era of the Iron Harvest has begun. Farmers are uncovering the remains of the majestic walking machines that once fought battles, such as giant dieselpunk mechs. In the midst of this chaos, a new threat appears that will put Europe at risk of conflict once again.

Iron Harvest will include the usual mechanics for an RTS, with resource management, combat tactics, and army building that includes infantry, special heroes, and mech units – lots of them. Single player mode will provide an overarching story for the three campaigns with more than 20 missions combined. Co-op and multiplayer mode will also be implemented, from skirmish maps to challenge maps and more. Lastly, the developers guarantee a slew of free DLCs and updates once it releases.

Iron Harvest will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on September 1, 2020.

Be sure to stick around for more news on the latest happenings in Gamescom all throughout the week, which we will be covering once it drops.
